Conti Federal is currently constructing a design-bid-build (DBB) state-of-the-art Phase Maintenance Hangar at Ellsworth Air Force Base (AFB) in South Dakota. This $135M million project will deliver a 75,300 square foot facility designed to support the operational readiness of the U.S. Air Force, with two aircraft servicing bays and a full suite of back shop, administrative, and facility support spaces.
The Phase Hangar will include all the necessary infrastructure to support maintenance operations, ensuring the capability to service and maintain aircraft efficiently. The hangar’s design will integrate cutting-edge technology and systems, with specific spaces constructed to meet Intelligence Community Directive/Intelligence Community Standard 705 (ICD/ICS 705) and AFI 16-1404 standards, providing secure areas for sensitive operations.
In addition to the two aircraft servicing bays, the facility will house critical back shop areas for maintenance, along with administrative offices and support spaces, ensuring a fully operational and secure environment for the maintenance personnel.
This project is designed to meet stringent security requirements, with dedicated spaces built to ensure the secure handling of sensitive materials and operations. The Phase Hangar will also adhere to best practices in environmental sustainability and energy efficiency, providing a modern facility that enhances the U.S. Air Force’s long-term mission success.
Conti Federal’s commitment to excellence in construction, security, and operational functionality ensures that the new Phase Maintenance Hangar will be a vital asset for Ellsworth AFB, supporting the Air Force’s mission for years to come.
