The Israeli Ministry of Defense (IMOD) recently awarded Conti Federal a Certificate of Recognition for its work on Hardened Aircraft Shelters for Israel’s F-35 fighter program. These highly secure, complex facilities are the first of their kind in Israel and were delivered for USACE Europe.
In total, Conti Federal installed the shelters, multiple support structures, administrative facilities, utility systems, and ammunition storage sheds.
The Israel Army Contracting Officer (ACO) for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Europe said of the work, “This specific project entailed multiple aspects and facets of original and unique design, especially within the structural discipline. Conti’s ability and experience in the steel and concrete works allowed for solid partnering on site leading to an overall better product for the customer.”
Earlier this year, USACE Europe and the Israeli Air Force celebrated the opening of the new hangar project with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
