Conti Federal Celebrates Construction Milestone for B-21 RF Hangar at Ellsworth Air Force Base

Conti Federal Services, a leading U.S. government construction and engineering firm specializing in military and secure construction, held a topping off ceremony on Wednesday, June 26, 2024, at Ellsworth Air Force Base to celebrate an important milestone on this mission-critical project.

Awarded in April 2023 by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Omaha district, the $70M project will provide a new 64,500 square foot Radio Frequency facility (RF Hangar) with a single aircraft measurement bay and all associated back shop, administrative and facility support spaces. The RF Hangar facility was the first award for Conti Federal at Ellsworth Air Force Base, where the company is now working on its fourth project on base, all in support of the B-21 beddown program at Ellsworth Air Force Base.

The topping off ceremony, which celebrated the last structural beam placed on the building, brought together representatives from Conti Federal and USACE, including Mr. Pete G. Perez, P.E. who is currently serving as the Chief of Engineering and Construction for USACE headquarters. This milestone was commemorated with the signing of the beam by those working on the project, along with a tree placement on the beam that signifies the building has reached its final height.

The project is set to be completed in 2025.

Conti Federal is also constructing the B-21 Weapons Loader Training Facility, a B-21 Phase Maintenance Hangar, and a B-21 Fuels System Maintenance Dock at Ellsworth Air Force Base in Rapid City, South Dakota.
