Conti Federal Completes Restoration of Fort Liberty Barracks

Conti Federal demonstrated exceptional efficiency by completing the restoration project for Fort Liberty’s barracks within the specified one-year time frame

Conti Federal Services, a leading U.S. government construction and engineering firm specializing in military construction, critical infrastructure and rapid response and recovery, has successfully completed an ambitious barracks renovation project at Fort Liberty in North Carolina, completing the project in an impressive 11 months.

Fort Liberty is one of the largest military installations in the world by population and the largest US Army base by population. A mold infestation was discovered in three barracks on base and 1,200 soldiers were displaced. Through a Rapid Disaster Infrastructure (RDI) contract from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Omaha District, Conti Federal was awarded a $69.4 million contract to restore the barracks on an expedited schedule.

A project of this magnitude would typically require 30 months to complete; Conti Federal completed the project in 11 months. The restoration project included demolishing the barracks to load-bearing members and a complete renovation of the interiors, including all infrastructure and finishes. The newly renovated facility now boasts more modern and comfortable accommodations for the soldiers.

“The security of a nation is only as strong as the safety of its soldiers,” said Conti Federal Vice President, Pat Hogan. “We understood the urgency of the project from the onset and worked assiduously to complete it on time. We couldn’t have accomplished it without proper planning and the tremendous support from our numerous trade partners. We are pleased to have played a role in improving the living conditions for our nation’s soldiers.”

Conti Federal boasts an impressive track record for executing mission-critical projects quickly. The company completed a COVID-19 alternate care facility on the island of St. Croix in only 22 days during the height of the pandemic in 2020 for the USACE Savannah District. More recently, the company completed a runway and taxiway renovation in Israel two months ahead of schedule.
